


Louisiana School Counselors,
The Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) is launching the SREB Crisis Recovery Network, a new initiative designed to strengthen school crisis recovery efforts following catastrophic events. This network will prepare school counselors to provide extended recovery support within their schools, districts, higher education institutions, and, when needed, across SREB states. All training and deployment costs are fully covered by SREB.
An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, January 29th from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. CT to share details about the network, counselor expectations, training requirements, and opportunities for participation. A flyer with full information is attached, and the meeting link is included below.
Nation School Counselor Week
February 2-6, 2026
National School Counseling Week 2026 (#NSCW26) is Feb. 2-6, 2026, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. The theme is: School Counselors Amplify Student Success. National School Counseling Week, presented by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February. Multiple resources, many of them free, are available to help you celebrate National School Counseling Week.

Louisiana School Counselors are FIRED UP!





































LSCA SCHOLARSHIPS
The Louisiana School Counselor Association (LSCA) will offer two $1000 scholarships to school counseling students who are members of LSCA. In addition, LSCA will offer one $500 research grant to one graduate student, professional school counselor, or counselor educator for 2024. The LSCA 2024 Research Grant is designed to be used to support research in the area of school counselor effectiveness, transformation of the school counseling profession, or school counselors and student outcomes.
The 2024 application has closed. Stay tuned for the 2025 application process next school year.
