LSCA SCHOLARSHIPS

The Louisiana School Counselor Association (LSCA) will offer two $1000 scholarships to school counseling students who are members of LSCA. In addition, LSCA will offer one $500 research grant to one graduate student, professional school counselor, or counselor educator for 2024. The LSCA 2024 Research Grant is designed to be used to support research in the area of school counselor effectiveness, transformation of the school counseling profession, or school counselors and student outcomes.

Research Grant $500 Award

Christopher T. Belser

Dr. Belser is an Associate Professor and Counselor Education Program Coordinator at the University of New Orleans. He has published numerous articles and chapters on P-16 STEM career development initiatives, school counselor preparation and practice, and child and adolescent development.

Graduate Student $1000 Scholarhip

Breanne Bourque

Breanne is pursuing a Master of Education in School Counseling at Nicholls State University. Her leisure interests include spending time with family and helping others in need. Breanne is striving toward the future and seeking life's next chapter.

Graduate Student $1000 Scholarship

Darius Spurlock

Darius is pursuing his Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Louisiana State University. He looks forward to helping students successfully navigate through secondary school and prepare for their post-secondary plans.
